Student Reflection Feature
Student Reflection
The student reflection feature allows students to reflect on their behavior by filling out their own behavior form and answering questions. In order to do a reflection, students need a username and password. Students that are uploaded to the system are given default usernames and passwords, usually their first and last name. You can check a student’s username and password by searching for that student in the quick student search, and clicking on their first name to open up their user account.
To do a reflection a student goes to the computer, and opens up www.tisbis.com. From there, the student enters the school code. and his or her username and password.
Once the student is logged in there are several steps.
Further Steps for Teacher
To do a reflection a student goes to the computer, and opens up www.tisbis.com. From there, the student enters the school code. and his or her username and password.
Once the student is logged in there are several steps.
- Time Select- This is the minimum time a student needs to spend on the reflection. If the student chooses “none”, then once they fill out the information they are finished. If they choose 5, 10, 15, or 20 minutes, then the student cannot finish the incident until that time has expired.
- The student selects the period, location, and rule broken from the drop down menu.
- Questions- The student answers open ended questions (customizable in the administration menu) about their behavior. When they are finished they click insert, and they are automatically logged out of the system.
Further Steps for Teacher
- The teacher can view/edit the student reflection at a later time by logging into the teacher account (the student needs to be assigned to the teacher's class). When the teacher logs in, they will see a pending student incident on their home page. Teachers have the option to check 3 different boxes:
- Close/Send Email- This will submit the incident into the system and send the parents an email.
- Close No Email- This will submit the incident into the system and not send an email
- Delete- This will delete the incident from the system
- The teacher can edit the incident and add teacher comments by clicking on the date of the incident. By clicking on the date, you are brought to the incident detail page. By clicking on the student’s name, you can add additional teacher comments to the incident. You can also send an email after adding teacher comments, so the parent email contains the teacher’s comments as well as the student’s reflection.
- The reflection responses can also be edited by clicking on the student’s name under the reflection heading.
